Medical negligence is the failure to act in accordance with the accepted standards of health care practice. There have been many cases of injuries and deaths due to negligence by health care providers. Health care providers include not only physicians but also nurses, dentists, laboratory technicians and therapists. Sometimes the hospitals or clinics are also charged of negligence. Some examples of medical negligence are surgical errors, wrong doses of medication, misdiagnosis, lack of knowledge, etc. The health care provider has a legal duty to provide care or treatment to the patient. If he does not adhere to the appropriate standards of his profession and the patient sustains injuries or loses his life due to his negligence, the patient’s survivors have the right to file a case against him and receive a compensation claim. In order to avoid medical negligence, both the doctor and the patient need to be very careful. The doctors, on their part, should try not to make any mistakes. They need to double check everything because the life of the patient is in their hands. They should follow the correct medical procedure. On the other hand, the patient should collect all details about the competence and qualifications of his doctor. He should try to find a reputed doctor by talking to other people. He should not hesitate to ask the doctor any questions in order to clear his doubts till he is satisfied. Thus a little alertness on both sides can help in avoiding medical negligence.
Medical Negligence: A Definition
June 1st, 2009 by adminMany Varieties of Bingo
June 1st, 2009 by adminAs a young child, I spent many summers at the local recreation centre playing various games, some of which included bingo. Even though I didn’t always win, I still had fun. Now that I’m older, I’ve learnt that the game that I played was only one of many varieties. I had no idea that they even existed. There’s U-Pick ’Em bingo, a version that lets its players choose the numbers they want. It’s rumoured to have Chinese origins that predate the Han Dynasty. In Quick Shot bingo, games can last as long as weeks or even months because all of the numbers are pre-drawn. Players buy sealed bingo cards and match them with the pre-drawn numbers as they vie for top level prizes. Bonanza bingo begins with forty-five pre-selected numbers. The game plays out progressively and the jackpot increases. Like the name suggests, Horse Racing bingo is a fast-paced version played by fifteen players. Table bingo is fast-paced too, but it takes after casino games. In Christmas bingo, players each bring three presents as potential prizes. It is a game that anyone can enjoy.
Bailiffs & Debt Collections
June 1st, 2009 by adminWhen a creditor wishes to collect a debt owed to them they may seek legal assistance in doing so. They would secure the services of a bailiff who would then be authorized to collect the debt. Just as there are many types of debts to be collected there are also several types of bailiff’s. Some bailiffs are associated with county courts. Others are certified in their profession. This means that a firm in employing the bailiff has provided information to the county court regarding the person’s credentials. While others choose to work privately for themselves. Bailiffs may be used to collect child support, rent, court fees or fines, as well as overdue taxes.
Bailiffs are provided with warrants which give them the legal authority to collect the creditor’s money. If you are unsure as to the credentials of any bailiff’s visiting your home you should ask them to show you their identification. They would be required to do so if you ask. There are certain restrictions placed upon bailiffs when collecting debts. For example Bailiff’s may only collect debts during reasonable hours and have proof they have been sent by the correct debt management company. Also they have no right to force themselves into your home. They may also not seize any goods that you have as a result of the debt.
Consumers need to understand their rights in regards to a visit by a bailiff. You do not have to permit the bailiff’s access into your home. This is still true even if the bailiff is accompanied by members of the police. They cannot arrest you for prohibiting access to your home.
However if a bailiff is permitted to enter your house peacefully they then can seize any goods. They even have the authority to break in the locks in order to attain the desire goods. Once the goods have been secured by the bailiff they made choose different options. They may simply put the items into storage which later they may sell a public auction. They may also choose to leave a guard on your property in order to ensure that the goods do not disappear. However bailiffs usually will require your signature on a walking possession agreement. This agreement means that the goods have been legally seized. The goods now belong to the bailiff’s and in any time they could be removed from their home. Typically with this type of agreement the goods are actually left their once the bailiff leaves.
Comparison of the Managers
June 1st, 2009 by adminOut of all the teams in La Liga, Real Madrid and Barcelona are the two that in recent years have emerged as the most successful. There is a debate, however, over which team is the strongest, since their statistics are so close. This debate will undoubtedly come to a head on the third of May, when these two giants of Spanish football will face each other at the Bernabeu. To predict the outcome, it may be helpful to look at the teams’ respective managers.
Former footballer Juande Ramos has been manager of Real Madrid since December 2008, and has helped to sustain their place as one of Spain’s premier teams. His career as a manager was well established when he joined Real Madrid, and he had in recent years had successes with Sevilla and Tottenham Hotspur. However, there were also negatives points that cannot be overlooked. With Sevilla, Ramos managed to win the UEFA Cup twice, as well as beating future club Real Madrid in the final of the Spanish Super Cup. Sevilla were also placed third in La Liga in the 2006/7 season. There followed a successful start at Tottenham, which saw the failing team brought up to the middle of the Premier League. However, Ramos began the 2008/9 season badly, and Tottenham were placed bottom of the table. This led to Ramos being sacked, before he took up the post at Real Madrid.
Barcelona’s manager Josep Guardiola has much less experience than Ramos –Barcelona is his first managerial job. However, this may not be such a hindrance as it first appears. Previously a player and coach for a number of years, he already knew the team well when he began working as manager in June 2008. And considering that Juande Ramos only began at Real Madrid in December, Guardiola does have more experience in his current position. Barcelona’s statistics speak for themselves. From performing badly in the two previous seasons, by February 2009 they had a ten point lead over Real Madrid and were at the top of La Liga. The conclusion of which manager will emerge as triumphant in the long run is difficult to come to. It is unknown whether Ramos’ wealth of experience will win against Guardiola’s clear drive and talent. The only way to find out is to buy Barcelona and Real Madrid tickets for the third of May, and watch the battle unfold.
An Introduction Into the World of Classic Cars
June 1st, 2009 by adminSo you’re ready to stroll into the world of classic cars? You’ve seen the glamour of the vintage car shows, the stunningly restored 1930’s Austin and felt your heart skip a beat and run your sweaty palm over the fender of the 1938 Jaguar SS 100.
Now where to begin? First, you must accept that although you may find a fabulous bargains and with stealthy determination make great internet deals for the vintage parts, you will no doubt pay more for the A1 restored model than the original owner paid off the lot. Not in every case, certainly. Much dependence on the exact model chosen for your project, how much of it you do on your own and whether actual replacement parts can be found, or if they are reproduction parts.
So you’ve decided that much of the restoration will be done with your very own two hands. It’s a labour of love on your part and you wish it to be authentically yours. Good choice! Now to decide what to make over. There are, of course many options. Think carefully before you choose. Unless you have unlimited time to devote to your project, choose a car that is in tact, but has been neglected. Almost without exception, novices choose one that takes too much time, and money, leaving it unfinished for ages, remember classic car parts can be very expensive.
Now that you have your car, take it to its new home and begin. A word of caution – do not take it apart as a whole! Begin in one area, restore that area, put it back together and move on to the next area. That way you aren’t faced with a massive jigsaw puzzle in a zillion pieces with no idea where all the pieces fit back together.
If you focus on one area, you can research the parts you need in area shops or online and secure those parts in due course, finish that area and move on, knowing that section is complete. Do the research for the parts you need; there are plenty of suppliers available for your parts and the manuals you need to get the job done.
Camping Holidays: Beware high winds
June 1st, 2009 by adminThere is something special about a holiday under canvas that you can’t find any other way. I have camped in caravans and campervans, in chalets and holiday homes. I have stayed in innumerable hotels and guest houses, but there is something unique about sleeping in a tent. Both family holidays and holidays with friends can be fanastic fun if you go camping. It is the sights, the sounds, the smell of dew in the mornings, the feeling of complete freedom that you just do not find anywhere else. Of course camping is not entirely without its unique difficulties too, but ultimately the pleasures of camping outweigh the drawbacks, at least for most of the time.
I have woken up in the morning to greet a cow that has pushed its head through the tent flap to investigate what is going on, I have had all my food eaten by a pony in the New Forest, I have been washed away by a river that was not there when I pitched my tent but is now a fast flowing torrent, but the worst enemy I have encountered when camping has been wind, that is the kind of wind that forms part of the atmospheric system rather than the other kind.
Wind is the ultimate enemy of the camper. Not only does it carry your tent away so you have to go chasing it in the early morning, but when you have finally caught up with it and wrestled it to the ground, throwing yourself on to it to prevent it escaping again, there is no way that the wind will allow you to re-erect it. Even if the wind falls for a few moments and you think that you might get it up again, it will suddenly return to undo your best efforts. Eventually through exhaustion you have no choice but to wrap yourself up in the canvas as best you can and wait till dawn and the calm. If you are going to camp where it might be windy, it is best to get a wind resistant tent and some very large tent pegs.
Camping With Your Girlfriend
June 1st, 2009 by adminCamping holidays with your girlfriend or girl friend can be one of the most intense times you can live trough, better than being carried on top of elephants somewhere in India, better than being on a ship heading upstream on the Nile. How can it be better? Well, you choose where you go yourself, take care of yourselves, and then can express the gratitude for such care to each other in the middle of the mountain, where everything is quiet and no one is around, scaring the birds and animals away. Let nature hear your love.
Going camping is always great, it makes you prepare your own food on the fire you set for yourself, it makes you clean up after yourself, it makes you wash your clothes in the river and wash with your loved one with only the song of birds keeping you company. It makes you clean to wash in the river, not only clean from dirtiness, clean inside, it cleans you up and makes you be able to love again, and makes you try harder to satisfy the needs people have. It makes you become more honest and outgoing. And when everyone is outgoing, everyone is happy.
A fun game for adults as well
June 1st, 2009 by adminEver since I was a little girl, bingo has always been a traditional family game on game nights. Bingo is a fun game that people are taught how to play from childhood and is a fun game for adults as well. Another great advantage that bingo has is the fact that your chances of winning are very good since there are a lot of opportunities to win. When I was in middle school they had a school sponsored party were bingo was featured. I won a bicycle because I was the first to call out “bingo.” Bingo is a great game that is cherished by the young as well as the elderly. Great opportunities and game tactics can be learned just by playing bingo. One of the main game tactics that can be learned from bingo is patience. As the old saying goes, patience is the key. I have had nothing but positive experiences from playing bingo. Bingo has also provided me with wonderful stories that I can share with my grandchildren.
Bingo is a fun game that I enjoy playing with my family
June 1st, 2009 by adminBingo is a fun game that I enjoy playing with my family. It is a great game, because people of all ages can play it. Every week, my entire family gets together and we play Bingo for hours and hours. We rarely get bored of Bingo, but sometimes we play card games too. Whenever we play card games however, we realize that we usually prefer to play Bingo. Sometimes I play Bingo with my grandmother at local tournaments. Once, I won one hundred dollars and it was very exciting. I notice that novice Bingo players have a hard time monitoring multiple Bingo cards, because the people who call the numbers often move very quickly. I have been playing Bingo for many years, so it is not difficult for me to play with many Bingo cards; sometimes as many as ten at once. I have never tried online Bingo games, but I’m sure that I would enjoy them if I did.
Buy a House Fast
June 1st, 2009 by adminIf you are looking to buy house fast, now is the time to do it. The banks are facing a surplus of bank-owned properties, and paying millions of dollars in order to minimally maintain them. Purchasing a bank-owned property could be a very good investment at this time if you have the means to do so. Since the housing market has crashed, more and more homes are foreclosing. Banks are looking to unload the empty homes on buyers. It has certainly, once again, become a buyer’s market. People can purchase homes from the banks for next to nothing. In time, these homes will most likely regain a lot of their values. You could potentially make a lot of money on the current crisis the housing market is in. Purchasing bank-owned properties in today’s economy, however, may be the tricky part. A lot of people just don’t have the means to pay for another mortgage. Even getting a home for a less expensive pricetage could realistically mean over a thousand dollars a month in a mortgage payment. One possibility would be to rent one of your homes until the market starts to regain value. At this point, you could sell your investment, and watch the money roll in!
